The Best Shows To Binge Watch

Over the Christmas I can imagine that the majority of us continued to binge watch a much loved TV Show or began a new one and are struggling with withdrawal now that the festive period is over. For me, I continued to binge watch Grey's Anatomy at an unhealthy rate and I still fit in an episode whenever I have a spare 40 minutes.
Below, I have comprised a list of TV Shows that I really, really, REALLY enjoyed and that I found were impossible not to binge watch.

Gossip Girl
I would be surprised to find any girl who has not watched at least some of Gossip Girl. I started watching this about a year ago and I still miss it! The characters are well portrayed through all the story lines which has you hooked. Whenever anyone asks me to recommend them a series to watch I always suggest Gossip Girl. The male species seem persistent to not watch it but I'm sure they're more guys out there watching it than we think. It's definitely not the 'girlie' series that most people seem to think it is. My boyfriend will kill me for saying this but he loved it and watched it with me all the time.

90210
I was always a devoted fan to Gossip Girl but once I finished that I needed a replacement. Although I loved Gossip Girl, I definitely enjoyed 90210 so much more. In fact, I was obsessed. I preferred the characters in Gossip Girl but I just found the story lines in 90210 to be better and I found I was addicted to this more than I was to Gossip Girl. I would recommend this show to anyone and I can assure you that it will not disappoint.

Friday Night Dinner
If you're in the mood to laugh then this is definitely the series for you. I loved this so much that I would almost say it's funnier than The Inbetweeners (maybe not quite). The characters in this series are all so different and played so well. Each episode is as funny as the previous one and I can guarantee it will have you rolling off your seat laughing.

The Killing
Although I only watched the first 2 seasons, I did that for a very good reason. The first season could easily be watched within a day as it is just incredible! Realizing that the second season is a continuation of the plot in the first season, the next marathon begins. I didn't find one dull, boring moment in the first two seasons and I would highly recommend them. I had heard from several people that the third season was a let down compared to the first two so I decided to give it a miss. I did watch the first couple of episodes but found I was just not enjoying it at all. If you happen to have watched it and found it enjoyable and as good as season one and two then please comment below!

Grey's Anatomy
As I mentioned already, this is the show I am currently hooked to! I had heard great things about Grey's Anatomy since the first season but I never thought I would enjoy it. How wrong was I? From the pilot episode in season one I was addicted and this has only worsened since then. I think I am on season three at the moment and although I don't have the time to sit and watch several episodes consecutively, I'm still enjoying it as much as I did season one. 10/10- cannot recommend this enough!

Have you watched/are you watching any of these shows at the moment? What other shows would you recommend to watch?

Goodreads - The Clever Way To Read

Today I am going to be doing something a little different. You all know I'm a massive bookworm and recently I came across this genius website called Goodreads. I don't usually struggle with finding new books to read mainly because I know what books I enjoy but I do love to find out about books that may catch my attention. That is exactly what Goodreads is about. Not only can you get recommendations based on the books you've read, but you can also see hundreds of reviews on books to check the overall rating. Many authors are users of this website which is great as you can interact with your favourite authors! This site also gives you the opportunity to set a reading challenge for the year and I have set a goal of reading at least 50 books in 2015.

There is also a Goodreads app available which is handy when you're reading on the go!

I'm sure some of you have already heard of this website/use it but I am just so impressed with it and enjoy using it so much that I felt the need to share it with you all. You can add me as a friend on Goodreads here.

Are you a Goodreads user? Have you ever heard of Goodreads before?

December Playlist

Here we are in December and my last monthly playlist of the year! McBusted's debut album was released at the beginning of this month so naturally a chunk of my playlist will be from that album. Enjoy!

1. What Happened To Your Band by McBusted from the self-titled album McBusted

2. Get Over It by McBusted from the self-titled album McBusted

3. Sensitive Guy by McBusted from the self-titled album McBusted

4. Getting It Out by McBusted from the self-titled album McBusted

5. 23:59 by McBusted from the self-titled album McBusted

6. Save You by Pearl Jam from the album Riot Act

7. Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran from the album X
When this song was released I hated it. Okay, I wouldn't say hate but I just didn't warm to the song at all. Overtime I began to love the song as I seemed to hear it everywhere I went. Definitely one of Ed Sheeran's best singles!

8. Surfer Babe by McFly from the album Room On The Third Floor
I've been listening to a lot of McFly's old stuff lately, especially their first album, and only now am I realising what a cracker of an album Room On The Third Floor is.

9. Room On The Third Floor by McFly from the album Room On The Third Floor

10. Just Breathe by Pearl Jam from the album Backspacer

11. Down By The Lake by McFly from the album Room On The Third Floor

12. Evacuation by Pearl Jam from the album Binaural

November Playlist

This month's playlist is extra special because... THE NEW FOO FIGHTERS' ALBUM WAS RELEASED. Yes my friends, the sounds of Sonic Highways were finally exposed to my ears and can I just say W.O.W. I guess we all know what my album of the month is going to be.

1. I Am A River by Foo Fighters from the album Sonic Highways

2. Something From Nothing by Foo Fighters from the album Sonic Highways

3. What Did I Do?/God As My Witness by Foo Fighters from the album Sonic Highways

4. Outside by Foo Fighters from the album Sonic Highways

5. The Blue, The Green by Lonely The Brave from the album The Day's War
From what I can remember, this was in last month's playlist but I'm still listening to this song daily so it's getting a place in this month's post. I would highly highly highly recommend listening to these guys, you won't regret it! There is not one 'not-as-good-as-the-others' song on this album. All fourteen songs are incredible!

6. Fluorescent Adolescent by Arctic Monkeys from the album Favourite Worst Nightmare
It wouldn't be a good month without some Arctic Monkeys thrown into it

7. R U Mine? by Arctic Monkeys from the album AM

8. What Happened To Your Band? by McBusted from the album McBusted
McBusted released this song as a teaser to their upcoming debut album due for release on December 1st. Obviously I'm a tiny bit biased when it comes to all things related to McFly (and now McBusted) but this song is a cracker!

9. Straight Through My Heart by Keywest from the album The Message

Album of the month: Foo Fighters // Sonic Highways

Quick & Easy Healthy Breakfast

Porridge and chopped banana with cinnamon flavouring
If you're looking for a healthy and quick but tasty breakfast then here's the perfect recipe! This can be made in less than five minutes which is important when it comes to those dreaded early winter mornings.

What you need:
Porridge
Milk
Cinnamon
One Banana

1. Measure out your desired portion of porridge oats. The quick oats that come in cylinder containers usually come with scoops for easy measurement. I usually put 3 heaped scoops into a bowl.

2. Pour milk over the porridge oats until all are completely covered and then add a little extra to avoid the porridge becoming dry when it's in the microwave.

3. Place the bowl of porridge in the microwave for approx. two and a half minutes.

4. Depending on the consistency when it's been heated, add another drop of milk and stir.

5. Chop up one banana and then mix in with the bowl of porridge.

6. Shake your desired amount of cinnamon powder over the porridge, stir and then shake some more powder into the bowl before stirring again. Add as much cinnamon powder as you wish.

7. Enjoy!

September Playlist

My playlist of the month includes songs by Arctic Monkeys, Nirvana and more!
You can listen to my September Playlist via Spotify here.

I first heard about these guys at the beginning of this year and despite hearing great things about them I never got around to listening to them until this month. I am slightly obsessed with them right now and cannot fault them at all. I have had their album 'Colourmeinkindness' on repeat and cannot recommend it enough.

From the album 'Colourmeinkindness'.

From the album 'AM'.

I have been a Nirvana fan for years and this has always been one of my favourite songs of theirs, despite it being a cover. I've been listening to them quite a lot this month especially their album 'Bleach' which features this song.

I always say that Radiohead are a one-of-a-kind band and that no one should attempt to cover their songs but Young Guns definitely did this song justice - very impressed.

I've never been a huge fan of Lower Than Atlantis although they do have some extremely catchy songs. This song is definitely my favourite of theirs and I've had it on repeat for over a month now. Their new album, which is self-titled, is expected to be released later this month.

From the album 'The Day's War'.

From the album 'Cavalier Youth'.

I will be saving each month's playlist on my Youtube channel so if you would like to keep updated then you can subscribe to my channel here.

Update and Depop Sale!

Hi guys!
Just a quick update on what's been happening lately. I'm back in college (finally!) and I'm now a third year student so I'm three quarters of the way to getting my degree. For those of you who don't know, I'm Studying for a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in 'Social and Community Development' and I'm in my third year out of four. I absolutely love it and I'm even more excited now to get my degree and get out into the working world. I'm hoping to continue with college and complete a Masters Degree in Addiction Studies but I'll probably take some time out of college first as I'll only be twenty-one finishing my current degree. If anyone is interested in studying a similar subject and would like some advice/more information, then please comment below or go to the contact tab on my blog to see the different ways you can contact me.

As well as college, I'm  always working part-time so my weeks can be quite busy, but I will make sure that I find the time to blog.

I recently set up a Depop account, my username is rorofosho. I am just selling a few bits of clothing that I no longer have a place in my heart for so take a look if you wish :) For those of you that don't know, Depop is an app you can download which lets you take a picture of something you want to sell as well as letting you buy other user's items. It's completely free and is a great way of getting rid of your wardrobe clutter as well as picking up items at fantastic prices. Receiving money from items you sell and paying for items is simple, especially if you have a Paypal account.
Follow me and have a look at what I'm selling - I am doing European shipping and accepting all reasonable offers.

Birthday Wishlist (If I Was A Rich Girl La La La Laaa)

It's that time of year again which means another birthday wishlist! I'm turning twenty this year and I seem to want to possess more things than ever. I'm hoping to receive some of these as presents, and others I hope to buy with birthday money. The remaining, well, I may never own them which breaks my heart.

1. Blueberry 3 Hole Dr. Martens

2. Zara Striped Tube Skirt

I noticed this when I was browsing the Zara website during the week and even though it's so simple, I fell in love with it. I would pair this up with a pair of black Dr. Martens and as in the picture, a black leather jacket. Take a look here.
Price - €16.95

3. Books
Of course I have books included in my wishlist and this time I'm hoping to get either/both of the titles below. I've recently become increasingly interested in Horror Books/Television Series/Films and I think both of these books are classics in that genre.

'The Amityville Horror' by Jay Anson.

'The Shining' by Stephen King.

4. Oversized Aztec Denim Coat by Romwe

I've had my eye on this coat for a while now but with the price tag of €73.55 I'm holding back on buying it. I'm the type of person who has a favourite coat or a favourite pair of shoes so I sometimes buy things and don't get my moneys worth. Although despite this, I think I would get my wear out of this as denim jackets pretty much go with everything (apart from denim on denim, of course!). I already own a denim jacket and I wear it ALL the time. I might buy this with birthday money but I'm not going to throw it into my shopping cart just yet! Take a look at the coat here.

As always thank you for reading and please don't hesitate to comment below or contact me via the links on my blog.

My Top Reads for 2014 so far

Bonjour!
As a lot of you may probably know, I am a huge huge HUGE reader and could read for Ireland. The genres I mostly read are chick-lit and biographies. I have a huge interest in ghosts, haunted stories etc, so I am going to start reading books based on them. If anyone has any recommendations then please comment below and let me know.
I will list my favourite books that I have read so far this year but they are not listed in any particular order.

1. Anthony Kiedis - Scar Tissue

My sister has always loved the Red Hot Chili Peppers and of course has always loved Anthony Kiedis. This book had been sitting around my house for years and I had been meaning to read it for too long. Eventually I found the time to start reading it and instantly fell in love with it. Not only was this book a page turner, it was a real eye opener into the difficulties surrounding drug use. Of course I have a huge interest in the area of drugs & addiction due to the nature of my college course.
This is a definite must read even for people who are not huge fans of the Chili Peppers! I have so much respect for Anthony Kiedis and I praise him on his success in his career and for the courage he showed during his continuous battle with drugs.

This is a no brainer guys - Pick yourself up a copy and read it asap!

2. Brian Keenan  - An Evil Cradling

This is without a doubt one of the best books I have ever read! Brian Keenan is a Journalist who was kidnapped in Lebanon in 1986 and held hostage for four years. This book, in detail, captures his time spent in captivity including how he was blindfolded and chained at the hands and feet for the majority of his ordeal.

3. J.D. Salinger - The Catcher in the Rye
I'm sure most of you have at least heard of this book or even read it. In this books Holden Caulfield recounts his expulsion from his school which he then leaves early and describes his journey where he talks to numerous people including nuns and prostitutes. The ending reveals a shocking part of Caulfield's life but I will not say what as it will ruin the book for those who have not read it.

4. Dynamo - Nothing is Impossible: My Story

The main reason why I enjoyed this book so much is because of  how Dynamo describes his past and childhood in great detail. Dynamo was born in Bradford where he was brought up by his single mother who was only 16 when Dynamo was born. Dynamo had a tough upbringing and was later diagnosed with Crohn's Disease.
This book recaptures Dynamo's journey to becoming a famous street magician and how influential his Grandfather was with Dynamo's magic.
Many of you are probably thinking that magic 'isn't real' etc etc, and no one knows whether what Dynamo does is real or not, including me. Despite this I have always enjoyed watching his show and I enjoyed this book even more. I highly recommend it and can promise you that it is a real page turner.

I have listed my favourite books that I think will interest most people instead of focusing on one genre. If anyone decides to read any of the above books then I really hope you enjoy them and would love to hear your thoughts on them.

Au revoir,

Róisín

Wishlist # 1

Untitled #7

I started working at the end of last year and since then I want EVERYTHING!!! Before I was used to knowing that I didn't always have the money to buy every single thing I wanted but now since I have money to spend temptation seems to be everywhere. Whether I'm online, watching tv or in shops something always seems to catch my eye.

I have become obsessed with playsuits lately and I almost want every single one I see. This playsuit on Motel Rocks is by far the nicest one I've seen since my obsession began. I am in love with the buttons down the centre of it and of course the design as it's quite grunge. (When shopping at motelrocks.com, enter 'rorofosho' at the checkout for a 20% discount).

At the moment I want two pairs of Dr Martens! I already own one pair but it's just not enough. I bought my first pair back in 2011 and they are still going strong so I am definitely planning on investing in a new pair soon. I currently own the black patent 8-eye boot ones so I'll probably buy a 3-eye pair next. For some reason I have fallen in love with the pink ones and they're currently on sale in China Blue at the moment so that's another reason why I'm thinking of buying them.
When walking past China Blue a couple of weeks ago, I noticed these absolute gorgeous pair of floral Dr Martens and I've been checking them out online ever since. I've always wanted a really funky pair of Dr Martens and these are by far the nicest floral pair I've seen.

I absolutely hate the caked look when it comes to foundation and I am dying to try out Bare Minerals. I've heard great things about them and even though it's a lot more than I've ever paid for a foundation, I think it'll be worth the price. I don't like a heavy coverage but just enough to hide any redness and blemishes on my face. I currently use Essence mousse in the lightest shade and at it's bargain price, it's the happiest I've ever been with a foundation. Bare Minerals foundation with SPF 15 can be bought in Debenhams, Boots and online.

Motel Rocks Trudie button up playsuit / €50
Pink 3-eye Dr Martens / €59 (on sale) normally €99
Pascal White Wildpoppy Dr Martens / €125
Bare Minerals foundation / €28

The prices listed above for the Dr Martens are based on the listings on the China Blue website - chinablueshoes.com
China Blue is located in Dublin City Centre, Merchants Arch, Temple Bar.

New Tattoo!

Hey guys!

So as many of you may know I got my second tattoo last week and I am absolutely in love with it! I was unsure of the final design I wanted to get but I eventually settled on the Mcfly logo, a screaming microphone, coming out of a rose. I have been wanting to get a Mcfly-related tattoo for a long time and I've always wanted a rose tattoo so I had the idea of putting the two together. I decided to go with an old-school rose and my boyfriend sketched out the final design for me.

Final design

Mcfly Logo

I'm sure many of you are thinking 'Did it hurt?' and yes, of course it did, it's a tattoo at the end of the day. The pain was definitely not as bad as when I got the tattoo on my foot done but the pain was not pleasant. But of course, it was well worth it when I saw the finished piece!

The finished piece!

I just want to thank the lads over at Vendetta Tattoo for being such gentlemen, especially Dean, who has done both my tattoos and exceeded my expectations. Check them out for great tattoos and discounts. Head over to their Facebook here and give them a message if you're thinking of getting a tattoo.

I know I haven't been posting much lately but I hope to get back to posting more regularly so if you have any suggestions for posts then just give me a message or comment below! :)

MCBUSTED!!!

Hi y'all,

Firstly, I know, it has been ages since I have posted anything! Months, actually. I apologise but I have been extremely busy with college and I was lucky enough to get myself a Christmas job but I'm now finished so hopefully I will be blogging more regularly again! I have college exams coming up over the next couple of weeks but certainly after that I will have more time to post on here.

Time to talk about why I'm actually writing this post. McBusted. I'm sure you all know my love and obsession with Mcfly by now so I am obviously excited that McBusted are playing a show in Dublin. Mcfly haven't played a show in Dublin since 2011 and it wasn't looking as if McBusted were going to announce an Irish date but eventually they did, to my delight! I am beyond excited to finally see Mcfly again for the fourth time and June cannot come any faster. I'm obviously more excited knowing that I'm seeing Mcfly again even though it is actually McBusted but I think that's mainly due to the fact that I saw them together back in September at Mcfly's 10th Anniversary show. Everyone seems to be so excited about Busted making a comeback, for obvious reasons, but for me it's all about Mcfly and the fact that they are finally playing Dublin again!

ANYWAY, overall I am extremely excited about seeing McBusted and I already know that it's gonna be one hell of a show. Make sure you all let me know if you're going to be there so we can all enjoy the show together!

I promise to post again soon and as usual feel free to inform me about any topics you'd like me to post about :)

Paramore live at the o2 - Monday 2/9/13

The time had finally come again for me to see Paramore live for the fifth time! I thought I was over seeing them live constantly time after time, until I heard their most recent album. The self titled album 'Paramore' is definitely one of their best albums to date with catchy songs such as 'Still Into You' and 'Anklebiters.'

For this concert I was seating which was very unusual for me but surprisingly enjoyable! The support act was Walking On Cars but unfortunately I did not see any of their set. If any of you are interested in checking them out then you can have a look at their Facebook Page here: https://www.facebook.com/WalkingOnCars?fref=ts
The lights went out just before Paramore appeared on stage and they then jumped into the song 'Grow Up.' In my opinion I think this song was not an opener and I didn't feel the excitement as they came on stage because of this. I felt as if I had been watching them for a while rather than feeling like they had just come on stage. Although I was disappointed with their opening song, I thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the gig! This was definitely my favourite time seeing them and to make things even better they played 'Last Hope' which is my favourite song off their most recent album. I was not expecting them to play this song as it is quite a slow one but Hayley Williams herself said that it was "a great song to involve the fans." They played an exceptional twenty-one songs and the setlist was:
1. Grow Up
2. Fast In My Car
3. That's What You Get
4. Decode
5. Ignorance
6. Interlude: I'm Not Angry Anymore
7. Now
8. Daydreaming
9. When It Rains
10. Last Hope
11. Brick By Boring Brick
12. Interlude: Holiday
13. Crushcrushcrush
14. Ain't It Fun
15. The Only Exception
16. In The Mourning
17. Pressure
18. Misery Business

Encore:
19. Part II
20. Interlude: Moving On
21. Still Into You

Meeting Bullet For My Valentine!

Honestly, I'm still in shock. For those who know me, you'll know how much of a fan I am of Bullet For My Valentine. Seeing them for a second time was too much for me to handle let alone meeting them!
I left the gig and went on over to the Stiff Kitten with my boyfriend completely amazed at how good the gig was. Standing outside in the smoking area and my boyfriend says "there's Matt Tuck" which I obviously didn't believe. I then turned around and saw Matt Tuck walking towards the nightclub. I couldn't believe it. I ran out of the smoking area, up to Matt Tuck where I got a hug, a picture and a squeeze from Matt Tuck at the back of my neck. Matt Tuck told me that I was warm and continued to hug me. This means EVERYTHING to me since I have adored Bullet For My Valentine since I was 13.
Moose was with Matt when we saw them so I went over to meet Moose, had a chat, a hug and then got a picture with him. He was so nice because he started conversation and showed us that he actually enjoyed meeting and chatting with fans.
I then met Jay in the nightclub while I was getting a drink at the bar and quickly grabbed a picture with him. Unfortunately I didn't get to chat to him due to so many fans crowded around him so all that was said was "Yous were great tonight" and "Thanks."
After meeting Matt, Moose and Jay I was wondering where Padge was and did not think I would get to meet him. I was sitting down having a drink and my boyfriend noticed Padge in the nightclub surrounded by fans. I pushed my way to him and got a picture (I also got a smile from him before the picture when he looked at me). I felt so sorry for Padge as he seemed really tired from the gig and had cameras flashing in his face.
All in all Belsonic was absolutely incredible and it feels amazing to have met Bullet For My Valentine! I may have fan girled slightly but looking back now I don't even care because I know how lucky I was to meet them.

I apologise in advance for my horrid state in these photos but I had endured serious moshing and I left my house at 10am that morning to travel to Belfast.
