Meeting Bullet For My Valentine!

Honestly, I'm still in shock. For those who know me, you'll know how much of a fan I am of Bullet For My Valentine. Seeing them for a second time was too much for me to handle let alone meeting them!
I left the gig and went on over to the Stiff Kitten with my boyfriend completely amazed at how good the gig was. Standing outside in the smoking area and my boyfriend says "there's Matt Tuck" which I obviously didn't believe. I then turned around and saw Matt Tuck walking towards the nightclub. I couldn't believe it. I ran out of the smoking area, up to Matt Tuck where I got a hug, a picture and a squeeze from Matt Tuck at the back of my neck. Matt Tuck told me that I was warm and continued to hug me. This means EVERYTHING to me since I have adored Bullet For My Valentine since I was 13.
Moose was with Matt when we saw them so I went over to meet Moose, had a chat, a hug and then got a picture with him. He was so nice because he started conversation and showed us that he actually enjoyed meeting and chatting with fans.
I then met Jay in the nightclub while I was getting a drink at the bar and quickly grabbed a picture with him. Unfortunately I didn't get to chat to him due to so many fans crowded around him so all that was said was "Yous were great tonight" and "Thanks."
After meeting Matt, Moose and Jay I was wondering where Padge was and did not think I would get to meet him. I was sitting down having a drink and my boyfriend noticed Padge in the nightclub surrounded by fans. I pushed my way to him and got a picture (I also got a smile from him before the picture when he looked at me). I felt so sorry for Padge as he seemed really tired from the gig and had cameras flashing in his face.
All in all Belsonic was absolutely incredible and it feels amazing to have met Bullet For My Valentine! I may have fan girled slightly but looking back now I don't even care because I know how lucky I was to meet them.

I apologise in advance for my horrid state in these photos but I had endured serious moshing and I left my house at 10am that morning to travel to Belfast.

Nails of the day - More from the Fearne Cotton Collection

Another Nails of the day post featuring Fearne Cotton's collection! This time I used the colour 'Royal Red' and you can read my full review on this collection here

Below are pictures of the shade of my nails. I used two coats and did not use a top coat as I find this nail polish does not chip easily!

My 19th Birthday Wishlist

As some of you may know, my 19th birthday is coming up (9th september) and I am very excited to finally get some money and spoil myself! This is a selection of items I've had my eye on for some time. I am in no way suggesting that these are bought for me as birthday presents. I am simply just creating a blog post that I think you guys will enjoy! :)

1. Tie dye Vans - €70
I've had my eye on these Vans for a good few months now. I already own a black pair of Vans and really want to invest in a new pair so I'm considering these!

2. Argos twin pack duvet covers for double bed spot+stripe - €21.59
About two months ago I moved bedrooms in my house as my older sister moved out. Luckily, I am now the proud owner of a double bed. I've been looking to get some nice bedding but I want something colourful and funky. I have found the exact thing in Argos and what makes it even better is the fact that there's two sets of bedding for just over twenty quid! Above is one of the sets and the other one is striped with the same colours (picture is no where to be found).

3. Black Levi shorts - €25 on Ebay
I currently only own one pair of high waisted levi denim shorts and I am in dire need of some new ones! I have a pair of light denim ones which I paid €45 or more for in Urban Outfitters. I don't know if I would be willing to pay that much again and I have just found the ones above on Ebay for €25 and these are brand new! I have found several companies on Ebay who are selling levi shorts for as little as €16 at the moment so I will definitely be buying myself another pair soon.

4. Black mesh maxi skirt by Nastygal.com - €21.74
I have been wanting a mesh maxi skirt for so long and this is by far the nicest one I have seen! Down from €43.47 to €21.74, it is tempting me to buy one even more. I am in love with the detailing at the bottom of the skirt as I think it adds something to a bland yet flattering piece of clothing. I think this skirt is perfect for all events as it is dressy but can be dressed down with a simple top or a pair of flats. And of course, it is a very dressy item and would look fabulous with a killer pair of heels!

5. Pink 3 eye Doc Martens - €89
I purchased my first pair of Dr Martens about two and a half years ago and I haven't once regretted it! I own a pair of black patent 8 eye Dr Martens boot and I have worn them to bits but they still look almost brand new. This is encouraging me to think about buying another pair and this time I'm going for something different. I've always loved the Doc Martens 3 eye shoes but have been put off as I've wondered if I'd get my wear out of them. I've since realised that I definitely would get my wear out of them as this style of shoe goes with everything such as jeans, dresses, shorts, etc.

6. Red flannel cropped shirt by Nastygal.com - €48.72
I just happened to come across this amazing cropped shirt on Nastygal.com and I've officially added it to my 19th birthday wish list!

7. Mcfly Radioactive Live At Wembley DVD
As you all know (should know) I am a massive Mcfly fan and I'm ashamed to say that I do not own this DVD. To be honest, I never even knew it existed until a while ago so I am eager to add it to my collection as I own everything else to do with them.

8. 30 Seconds To Mars Dublin Ticket - €39.05
I've always been a fan of 30 Seconds to Mars and finally I have the opportunity to see them again! I've seen them once before way back in 2008 but unfortunately the show was cut short due to them performing a midnight gig straight after and they were already late to start with! Because of this, I am excited with their return as I never got to see them when they last played Dublin in 2010.

Nails of the day | The Fearne Cotton Collection!

Fearne Cotton has brought out many cosmetic products such as nail polishes and make-up brushes and I am a huge fan! I have used both the nail polishes and the make-up brushes and cannot think of any criticism. I received these cosmetic products as gift sets for Christmas two years in a row so I am unsure if they are available all year round! Although I did do my research and managed to find some of Fearne's products on Ebay so I'd recommend taking a look.

For my nails of the day I used a nail polish from one of Fearne's collections called 'Fern Green.'

'Fern Green' is an absolutely gorgeous teal colour which personally I think is a difficult shade to find. This colour is probably my favourite one out of my collection of six. The brush is the perfect width which makes it easy to paint your nails in just a couple of strokes as well as reaching into the cuticles easily. The drying period is not very long and if patient, you will be left with glossy, smooth nails. This nail polish does not chip easily even without a top coat! I find that with this polish my nails do not start to chip or peel until at least three days after applying. So if a top coat was applied using clear nail polish, I think it would not start to chip until almost a week after painting your nails. To be honest, I think the nail polishes from Fearne's collections are the best I've ever used! Although I always put two coats on my nails, you could definitely get away with just the one when using these. The formula is very thick so the nails become opaque quite easily. I have applied two coats in the pictures above.

Below are the six Fearne Cotton nail polishes in my collection

Night Owl, Ruby Cotton, Cranberry Sparks, Black Honey, Royal Red, Fern Green

The life of my hair

Natural hair colour
2008

Peroxide Blonde
2009
This was the first time I dyed my hair.. EVER! I was 14 so I thought it would be a good idea and decided on peroxided blonde because I was a little scene kid. At the time I was dying and straightening my hair and I only wish I knew the damage it would cause to my hair.

Red (Left)
2009
After being blonde for about a month or so I decided to dye my hair red. This faded terribly because I dyed it over the blonde so therefore I had to dye it red a lot!

Brown
2009

Dark red
2010
I put a brown dye with a red tint into my hair but it turned out brighter than I thought.

Plum
2010

Brown.. Again!
2011

Orange
2011
I put a blonde dye over my brown hair and it went this colour. This was probably my favourite hair colour and the starting point to me going back to blonde.

Blonde/Orange
2011
I continued to put blonde hair dye into my hair so gradually the orange lifted and the colour lightened.

Peroxide Blonde.. Again!
2011
I got there eventually.

Peroxide Blonde and Purple Ends
2012

Lavender
2012

Blue
2012

Peroxide Blonde and Blue Ends
2012

Orange
2012

Peroxide Blonde.. Again!!!
2012

Blue again!
2013

Peroxide Blonde - Present
2013
And after all that, I end up back to the first colour I ever dyed my hair.

Meter&Verse make an appearance at Nuit Blanche!

Last month, Meter&Verse made a magnificent appearance at the event Nuit Blanche. This exciting night took place in Moxie Studios located in Lad Lane, just off Baggot Street.
We put all our energy into making our stall look enticing by displaying our products and placing our company name wherever possible! This arts festival was presented by Hunt&Gather and included an indoor market as well as DJs such as Stephen Blake, Emmet Condon, Damien McClurg + Aisling Redmond who provided music throughout the night.

Meter&Verse stall - Nuit Blanche (27/7/2013)

With nerves growing amongst us as the night kicked off, we hoped that the public would show an immense attraction to our stall and the products we had to offer them. Fortunately, this was exactly what happened! People showed massive interest in our products and this increased as the night went on. Products were sold left, right and centre particularly in the last hour of the event. We left the event knowing we had made a tremendous profit as the crowd at Nuit Blanche almost cleared us of our stock. By the end of the night Meter&Verse had proved themselves as a popular and well-branded clothing company with an exciting future ahead of them.

Crowds surround our stall

Great reductions going on right now so why not head over to our website and treat yourself!

Breaking Bad Season 1 ~ Review

Above, Bryan Cranston plays Walter White.

As we all know, Breaking Bad has caused major excitement in terms of television series'. Having won seven Primetime Emmy Awards, it is clear that this series offers viewers entertainment with the use of an extraordinary storyline.

Breaking Bad's plot is based around a chemistry teacher known as Walter White. From the early onset of season one Walter discovers he has lung cancer which influences him to engage in illegal behaviour. In order to secure his family's future once he passes away, Walter begins to produce methamphetamine with his former student Jesse Pinkman. Both Walter and Jesse produce and sell methamphetamine making them partners in this activity.

To be honest I've never been a huge fan of sitting down and watching endless episodes of a series. I just don't enjoy it and would rather curl up and engross in a book. I had been hearing so much about this series from both my family and my friends as well as seeing it mentioned in the media! Eventually I caved and began to watch it. Since then, I have been addicted and I try to squeeze in an episode whenever I have the time. I think this is because of the different storyline and how original this series is.

Breaking bad is full of compelling characters which would grab viewers' attention from the minute they are exploited on screen. What I particularly liked about this series is how there are other matters affecting all the characters and not just Walter even though he is the main character. For example, Walter's wife Skyler has a sister who has a habit of shoplifting which is an unusual incident to explore in a series of this nature. This ensures viewers' attention as the original storyline may not always be as exciting as it is at times.
What makes this series even more gripping is the fact that Walter's brother-in-law, Hank, is a DEA agent. This puts Walter and Jesse under even more pressure in terms of being arrested for the activity they are participating in.
As well as this Breaking Bad often introduces comedy into the script which brings out a lighthearted feel to such a dark drama.

Characters (from left to right) - Jesse, Walter, Skyler, Walter Jr., Marie, Hank.

Breaking Bad is so well produced with it's humourous yet exceptional script and it's superb acting that there is no need for cliffhangers as viewers' interest is always present. Because of this Breaking Bad is a definite recommendation to anyone no matter what genres they are interested in. Massive praise to Vince Gilligan who created and directed this sensational series. I am excited to see what season two will bring!

BOOK REVIEW - Caroline's Sister by Sheila O'Flanagan

Caroline's Sister by Sheila O'Flanagan (2002)

As a huge reader, I am constantly searching for an author whose books keep me glued to the pages and have me wanting to read more titles by them. Sheila O'Flanagan did just that. About two years ago a family friend gave me a book and recommended I read this book. It was Bad Behaviour by Sheila O'Flanagan. From about 20 pages in, I was addicted to it - literally! Since then I have read another eight books by Sheila and have enjoyed every single one of them. The main theme is Sheila's books is family feud which is what the majority of her plots evolve around.

The genre of this book is Chick Lit and is captured tremendously well in the excellent descriptions of relationships and family issues. Although I thoroughly found this book well written with an excellent plot, there was one con about it - The pace of the plot. I like the books I read to have an interesting plot where I am brought through every single step of all the characters. Unfortunately, this book did not do that. This book is one of Sheila's most lengthy (726 pages) but I found that because of this, there was huge jumps from one situation to the other. This is evident from the very beginning of the book when we are introduced to Caroline and her relationship with Damien. Caroline finds herself pregnant, which we are informed about, but very quickly she is no longer pregnant and is a mother to her daughter. In my opinion I found this fast movement of the plot as a way to jump straight to the centre of the plot which I did not feel was there. From reading this book I felt that there was no climax to the plot but that it was simply just a story and chain of events over a period of three or four years. Despite this, I truly did enjoy this book and did not feel it was a let down compared to Sheila's other novels.

If you enjoy sitting back and sticking your nose into a book which discusses relationships, sex, family and the issues which arise with these then this is the book for you! If you're a fan of authors such as Maeve Binchy, Marian Keyes and Sophie Kinsella then this is the book for you (or the author for you). But be warned - If you read one of Sheila O'Flanagan's books then you will want to read them all!

My first tattoo (eeek!)

Yes yes yes, the time has finally come (well, almost). I will soon be inked and there will be no way back! I am still indecisive about what I want and I can't seem to settle on a design. At the moment, I have four tattoos that I definitely want so as you can imagine deciding isn't easy! Two of these tattoos are script (quotes) and the other two are images (one with script). The first quote I hope to get tattooed on me eventually is "Too weak to give in, too strong to lose" - This is a quote from a Foo Fighter's song 'Best of You.' This lyric means a lot to me due to personal issues and struggles which I faced and continue to face to this day. The second quote tattoo is "Dead Set on Living" - Yes, this may seem very similar to the Foo Fighter's quote but this one appeals to me due to it being short in length so would make a very nice wrist/side of foot tattoo (which connects to another tattoo idea).
On my foot, I want an anchor. Simple as. This has been on my wishlist for too long! At the moment, this is the tattoo I'm probably going to get done as my first. I have still not decided on whether or not I will get colour in it so opinions are more than welcome! I'm going to get this done on my right foot, slanting towards the left of my foot and on the right side of the same foot I hope to get "Dead Set on Living."

Anchor design for my foot

Fourth and final tattoo idea is a design that my boyfriend actually drew which I fell in love with! Unfortunately, I cannot currently find the drawing of it so I'll do my best to describe it (this will be fun!). The design is a dagger going through a clock and I will have the quote "Time heals wounds" beneath it. Again this means an awful lot to me due to struggles I faced at the end of 2011, early 2012. Looking back now, I realise that time really does heal wounds and that never ever should someone give up. I plan on getting this tattoo as a thigh piece and getting it with colour. This is going to be the most expensive tattoo that I have planned but the most exciting!
If I manage to find this design I will put it up on my blog straight away because it really is a masterpiece!

And here it is!
The banner will more than likely be more simple than it is below but this is the main idea of the design :)
